Our Mission

Founded in 2014 to solve a persistent problem in Mediterranean charter: the gap between technically qualified sailors and professionally reliable crew.

Charter companies in the Mediterranean needed skippers and crew who were more than just qualified — they needed people who understood hospitality, guest management, safety culture, and the operational realities of running a commercial sailing programme. Finding that combination consistently, at scale, was close to impossible.

Captains and Crew was built to close that gap. We started in 2014 delivering new Lagoon and Nautitech catamarans from French shipyards to owners across the Mediterranean. From there we expanded into crew placement, skipper training, and RYA miles-building — always with the same underlying principle: if you are going to work professionally at sea, standards are not negotiable.

What we stand for

Safety before schedules

The delivery captain has full authority over navigational and safety decisions. No commercial pressure overrides a sound call at sea.

Operational honesty

We tell clients what a delivery or crewing job actually involves — including weather windows, timing risks, and what can go wrong. No overselling.

Crew we would sail with ourselves

Every skipper and crew member in our network has been assessed in practice, not just on paper. Qualifications are the starting point, not the finish line.

Long-term relationships

Most of our charter company partners have worked with us for three or more seasons. We track crew performance, gather operator feedback, and build on what works.

What we do

We operate across four areas, each connected by the same commitment to professional standards:

  • Yacht delivery — repositioning, crossings and shipyard handovers across the Mediterranean and Atlantic, with structured reporting and GPS tracking.
  • Crew placement — professional skippers, hostesses, deckhands and chefs for charter fleets, placed on seasonal or weekly contracts.
  • Skipper & Crew Academy — practical training in Mediterranean conditions: decision-making, guest management, safety and real seamanship.
  • RYA qualifying miles — offshore miles on real delivery passages, with logbook discipline and exposure to professional navigation routines.

“The sea doesn’t forgive mediocrity. It rewards preparation, respects experience, and demands humility. We built this company on exactly that understanding.”
