Captains and Crew closes the 2026 season with an autumn skipper selection week in the Golfo di Arzachena and the waters of the La Maddalena Archipelago. Charter catamarans, professional captains aboard, late-season autumn conditions.
Which means variable wind, a formed sea, and the occasional rolling night. You sleep aboard. You cook aboard. You sail in whatever conditions are objectively safe. There is no hotel to retreat to ashore. No one else takes the helm when the mooring gets complicated. You are on the helm. You are the one making the calls. That is exactly how charter works.

Passed with flying colours. If you wish, you may be added to the Captains and Crew roster and put forward to partner charter companies for the 2027 season — this does not constitute a guarantee of an engagement. And if during the week you showed something more — a genuine aptitude for command, not just technique — this will be recorded in your assessment. That is the highest recognition we give.

The Course Is Clear
Recommended training pathway. You are directed to the Level 1 or Level 2 Skipper Courses at the C&C Skipper & Crew Academy at the end of the season — same place, same captains. You know where to start from.

The Captains Sailing Week is a skipper-only selection, open exclusively to candidates who already hold the Italian Ufficiale di Navigazione del Diporto di 2ª Classe licence or — as a minimum requirement — RYA Yachtmaster, and who have real miles under the keel: charter, racing, deliveries, passages.
Selection follows an order of priority: first, candidates with proven charter experience; then those with genuine sailing experience not yet in a charter setting. We do not select profiles without substantial time under the keel.
If you have sailed a great deal and have not yet turned that experience into a profession, this is your chance to find out if the time is right — and if you are truly ready to run a boat with guests aboard when the weather turns.
Applications are screened. Places are limited. Everyone who arrives in Cannigione has already been assessed.
Successfully completing the selection is a necessary requirement to be put forward to partner charter companies for the 2027 season — it is not a guarantee of work.

Application Requirements
◦ Ufficiale di Navigazione del Diporto di 2ª Classe, or (minimum) RYA Yachtmaster — sail and/or motor
◦ Verifiable experience — real miles, not just declared
◦ Vessel experience from 38 feet upward
◦ Experience on monohull, catamaran or both
◦ Availability for at least 3 consecutive days
◦ Full personal equipment — you come as you would depart on a real charter
◦ Skipper role only — this selection does not cover cook, hostess or deckhand positions
◦ Priority given to candidates with charter experience; nautical (non-charter) experience considered next; no entry-level profiles
